little red caboose · medical center · since 1992
Little Red Caboose has been the trusted home for Medical Center families since 1992. Generations of children — many whose parents also walked these halls as toddlers — have grown up inside these walls on Babcock Road. We are minutes from UT Health, Methodist Hospital, Baptist Health System, and University Hospital, with extended hours built for the working schedules of healthcare professionals.
What makes LRC different is what no marketing can manufacture: time. Our average teacher has been here for 17+ years. Our infant specialist, Ms. Linda, has been with LRC for 28 of those years. When you leave your child here, you are leaving them with the same caregivers who raised the children of healthcare workers from this neighborhood twenty years ago.

what lrc parents say
We chose Little Red Caboose because of how peaceful and warm the baby room felt when we toured the school. The ladies in the baby room are so caring, warm, and experienced and really put us at ease as first time parents. Every morning our kiddo is so excited to see Ms. Linda and Ms. Amber.
— jessica c., first-time parent
My son has been at LRC since he was a toddler. He is thriving in elementary school about to go to middle school next year. I couldn’t have done it alone — so many thanks to all the amazing teachers. Never forget you are the pieces that made the difference.
— linda h., 10+ year lrc family
LRC has answered so many of my prayers. As a first time mom, they supported me through the adjustment of going back to work. Rather than a revolving door of staff, I am greeted by the same wonderful women every day. My daughter leans out of my arms to be held by her teacher Ms. Amber.
— rocio m., working mom
meet your lrc team
While most daycares average 30%+ annual turnover, the women who run LRC have been here for an average of 17+ years. When you tour, you’ll meet teachers who have raised the children of healthcare workers who themselves grew up in these classrooms.
what makes lrc unique
Daily swimming lessons supervised by certified lifeguards during summer programs. Our securely gated pool is designed for young learners — and is the only one at any Edquisitive campus.
While most preschools end at Pre-K, LRC continues with after-school care for elementary kids and summer camp through age 12 — making it the only Edquisitive campus where one family can keep all their children in one trusted place.
Serving Medical Center families since 1992 — the deepest heritage of any Edquisitive campus. Generations of children have grown up inside these walls, and many of our parents grew up here themselves.
We accept San Antonio Child Care Services subsidies and Military Childcare Aware — making accessible quality care a real option for the Medical Center’s working families.
ready to see 32 years in motion?
What makes a daycare trustworthy is who’s actually inside it. Walk the halls, watch a classroom, and see why families have stayed for 32 years.
built for medical center families
LRC is minutes from the major Medical Center hospitals — UT Health, Methodist, Baptist, and University. Healthcare professionals run on shift schedules that conventional daycare doesn’t accommodate well. Our hours run from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM, our pickup logistics are designed for parents arriving directly from rotations, and our teachers understand what it looks like when a child’s parent has been at the hospital since before dawn.
If you work in the Medical Center, LRC is built for the way your family actually lives.
about lrc · the cognia & trs journey
LRC came home to the Edquisitive family in 2024. While our sister campuses — Fair Oaks, Stone Oak, and NW Military — are all Cognia accredited and Texas Rising Star 4-Star rated, LRC is currently working toward both of those credentials. Both involve rigorous 12–18 month review processes, and we are applying the same standards at LRC that earned us those designations elsewhere.
What LRC has that no accreditation can certify: 32 years of Medical Center families trusting us with their children. A teaching team averaging 17+ years of tenure. An infant specialist — Ms. Linda — who has been with LRC for 28 years. A parent community of healthcare workers who chose us decades ago and still send their grandchildren today.
Accreditation is coming. Trust was always already here.

extended care through age 12
While most preschools end at Pre-K, LRC continues to serve families with after-school care for elementary children and summer camp through age 12. If you have multiple children, you can keep them all at LRC — your kindergartner and your toddler under one roof, dropped off and picked up together.
Elementary K – 5
We pick up directly from Thornton, Boone, Scobee, Great Hearts, and Somerset Elementary. Your child is supervised by the same teachers who raised them — not a rotating after-school crew.
Ages 6 – 12
Arts, crafts, daily swimming in our on-site pool, field trips, and structured activities. The same trusted environment your older child already knows.
