These are years of great cognitive, emotional, and social development when Montessori guides help lay the foundation for independence.

FAQ

What age range does the Toddler Program serve?

Our Toddler Program welcomes children aged 18 months to 3 years. Transitions from the Infant Program are based on developmental readiness—when your child is walking confidently and ready for more complex activities, we’ll partner with you to make the move smoothly.

How do you support toilet training?

We partner closely with parents to make toilet training consistent between home and school. Our teachers follow each child’s natural readiness cues and provide a supportive, pressure-free environment. We encourage independence in toileting routines through gentle guidance, accessible child-sized facilities, and plenty of patience as your toddler masters this important milestone.

What if my toddler is biting or having tantrums?

These behaviors are completely normal during the toddler years! Our experienced teachers use positive guidance and redirection to help children express their feelings appropriately. We teach conflict resolution through language, helping toddlers develop the communication skills they need to navigate social situations. We also work closely with parents to ensure consistency and share strategies that work both at school and at home.

What kinds of activities do toddlers do each day?

Toddlers engage in purposeful, hands-on Montessori activities designed for their developmental stage. This includes practical life skills like hand washing, snack preparation, and self-dressing; language activities with stories, songs, and conversations; sensory experiences with puzzles, sorting, and tactile materials; fine motor activities like pouring, using tongs, and matching games; and plenty of outdoor exploration and social interaction with peers.

How does Montessori help my toddler become independent?

Montessori for toddlers focuses on “help me do it myself.” We provide child-sized tools, accessible materials, and a carefully prepared environment where your toddler can practice real-life skills at their own pace. Whether it’s washing their hands, putting on their jacket, or preparing their own snack, these activities build confidence, coordination, and a genuine sense of accomplishment. Independence isn’t rushed—it’s nurtured through respect for each child’s individual timeline.
