At EdQuisitive Montessori, we know that choosing the right preschool is one of the biggest decisions you’ll make as a parent.
Below, we’ve answered some of the most common questions families ask about our philosophy, programs, and enrollment process.
Our name comes from combining “education” and “inquisitive.” It reflects our mission — to nurture children’s natural curiosity and turn questions into confidence.
EdQuisitive Montessori was founded by the leadership team behind Edquisitive Montessori, which pioneered virtual preschool during COVID and grew to five campuses in San Antonio. EdQuisitive continues that 20-year legacy with a renewed focus on curiosity, inquiry, and modern Montessori learning.
We welcome children ages 0–5 years — from infants to pre-kindergarten — in age-appropriate Montessori classrooms. We also offer after-school and summer programs for children 5-12 years.
We offer several flexible options to meet each family’s needs:
Full-Time Program: 6:30 AM – 6:30 PM (includes extended care depending on campus)
School-Day Program: 8:30 AM – 2:45 PM
Part-Time Program: two or three day sessions, available for select age groups
Yes! EdQuisitive Montessori operates year-round, providing consistent routines and learning opportunities through every season.

Yes. Summer sessions include hands-on STEM, outdoor exploration, and art experiences that extend Montessori principles into creative seasonal learning.
Montessori education empowers children to learn through independence, exploration, and hands-on experiences. Teachers guide — not instruct — allowing each child to move at their own pace and build confidence through discovery.
Traditional classrooms are teacher-led. Our Montessori classrooms are child-led and curiosity-driven, blending classic Montessori with modern inquiry-based learning (IBL) so children learn to think critically and creatively.
IBL encourages children to ask questions, explore materials, and make connections — turning curiosity into understanding. It complements Montessori by helping children develop strong decision-making and reasoning skills.
Yes! Our bilingual classrooms integrate English and Spanish, helping children develop language flexibility, cultural awareness, and stronger communication skills.
Our Pre-K curriculum emphasizes problem-solving, communication, and emotional readiness — ensuring each child transitions confidently into elementary school and beyond.
Yes. Every lead teacher is trained or enrolled in certification programs from accredited institutions.
We maintain lower ratios than state requirements — for example, 2:16 in toddlers compared to Texas’s 2:22, 2:24 vs 2:36 for preschoolers — to ensure personalized attention and guided independence.
Safety is a top priority. All campuses follow strict security check-in procedures, regular classroom sanitization, and ongoing staff training in health and safety best practices.
We use a digital communication app (tadpoles) to share daily reports, photos, and developmental updates. Families also receive periodic progress assessments and have the option for parent-teacher conferences.
🧒 Infants & Toddlers
Our teachers follow each child’s natural readiness cues. We partner with parents to make potty training consistent between home and school.
We provide meals, snacks, and classroom materials. Families send a few comfort items — diapers, wipes, and a change of clothes.
Each classroom includes a calm, restful environment. Toddlers and younger children nap daily; older preschoolers have quiet rest periods with soft music or books.

We use secure, monitored entry systems, background-checked staff, and strict sign-in/out procedures to ensure only authorized individuals access our campuses.
All classrooms are sanitized daily, and high-touch areas are cleaned throughout the day. Teachers model healthy habits like handwashing and proper coughing/sneezing etiquette.
Each campus has a detailed Emergency Preparedness Plan covering fire, weather, lockdown, and medical scenarios. Staff receive regular safety drills and CPR/First-Aid training.
Yes. Every teacher and administrator maintains current CPR and First-Aid certification, renewed annually.
All visitors must check in at the front desk, present ID, and wear a visitor badge. Classroom access is only allowed with prior authorization.
Parents receive secure codes or digital verification. Staff supervise all transitions to and from classrooms to ensure each child’s safety.
Playgrounds are fenced, age-appropriate, and inspected daily. Teachers maintain direct supervision during all outdoor play.
We maintain detailed allergy and medical forms for each child and train staff on individualized care plans. Food substitutions are provided when needed.
Each campus is equipped with surveillance cameras, secure entry doors, and monitored alarm systems to ensure constant safety awareness.
We implemented virtual learning options, enhanced cleaning protocols, and health screening measures—many of which remain part of our daily operations.
We use positive guidance and redirection — encouraging children to make kind, thoughtful choices and learn from natural consequences.
Through group activities, peer collaboration, and daily grace and courtesy lessons, children learn empathy, respect, and communication.
